KAC Annual Conference Announcement

As many of you have asked in recent months about the status of KAC’s 2020 Annual Conference scheduled for October 13-15 in Wichita, KAC’s Board and staff have continued to monitor the COVID-19 situation across Kansas. After a thorough and thoughtful review of the annual conference in relation to COVID-19, the KAC Board has made the decision to cancel this year’s in-person conference in Wichita and replace it with a virtual meeting event. Given the uncertainty that large gatherings will be permitted, the related safety precautions (i.e. masks, social distancing, etc.), and the significant impact the virus has had on county travel and budgets, our KAC leadership believes this is the best decision to keep our attendees, vendors, sponsors and other participants, safe and protected.  

While this year’s event may look a bit different virtually, we are excited about the options being considered as a replacement for some of the conference activities. Please know that we plan to make this year’s virtual meeting a meaningful experience for our members and provide programming that is timely and educational.

As the virtual meeting plans are underway, we will provide updated information when it becomes available on KAC’s Annual Conference webpage located here: https://www.kansascounties.org/services/annual-conference.

We appreciate all your support and understanding during this time of transition, and we will provide additional information as it becomes available. We truly will miss seeing all of you in person in Wichita, but we do look forward to the new virtual opportunity to gather and learn with one another this October.

HOTEL CANCELLATION POLICY FOR THE KAC ANNUAL CONFERENCE

The room block will be opened when the KAC annual conference registration opens. A deposit equal to one night’s stay is required to hold each guest’s reservation and it will be charged at the time of the reservation. These deposits paid by individuals are refundable if notice is received at least four weeks prior to arrival and a cancellation number is obtained.  Each reservation must be accompanied with the name for each room (no hotel room block will be allowed; for example, booking five rooms under one name is not allowed). Name changes on guest room reservations will be accepted.
